MJ P\u00e9rez<\/strong> is one of the new voices on the current Galician music scene. He began his tour in 2014 and now has almost 100 concerts in different cities and towns in Galicia. He now has three albums, one self-edited and two self-produced. Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9, a native of Arz\u00faa, began this journey in 2013 by creating “Ollos que non ven, s\u00edntoma de cegueira” (2013)<\/em>, her first work; a self-released album made up of 10 tracks that marked the beginning of this project. From this point on, in 2014, MJ continued his activity in a firmer way and took his music to other fields such as poetry. It was here that he began to collaborate with the poet Mercedes Leobalde. That same year, he was a finalist in the ‘I Certame de Canci\u00f3n de Autor en Galego’<\/strong><\/em> of the Council of Teo, with artists such as Nastasia Z\u00fcrcher, Sof\u00eda Espi\u00f1eira and Alba Mar\u00eda.<\/p>\n

A year later, MJ released his second album, “Guerrilleira” (2015)<\/em>, an album with 12 songs united by a common theme: war. A minimalist project, full of freshness that presents an evolution in both performance and music. The final result is a fusion of different styles, with a predominance of rock-pop. This was followed by an intense tour of almost 2 years throughout Galicia, passing through stages such as the Noroeste Pop Rock Festival<\/strong> (2015).<\/p>\n

Drinking from the mixture of styles, her third album “Cassandra” (September 2017)<\/em> was born, an album that marks a turning point in the artist’s work. It is a work that is characterized by the fusion of styles without losing sight of the essence, which also stands out for the presence of several special collaborations: Serj, Ail\u00e9n Kendelman, Richi Cas\u00e1s, Paco Cerdeira and Marti\u00f1o Cabarcos. The artist arrives at this third album after a year marked by her second place in the “VII Concurso Musical da Deputaci\u00f3n da Coru\u00f1a”<\/strong> competing with groups like Bala, The Trunks or Jamie Fifthring and the release of the single “A Peza Solta”<\/em> with the collaboration of Lidia Bao from A Coru\u00f1a. In addition to this, he took first place at the “Xuventude Crea 2017”<\/strong> and toured extensively to present his latest album “Casandra”<\/em>.<\/p>\n

At this moment, MJ, besides the presentation of his new album all over Galicia, takes on new challenges such as performing in Portugal for the first time or recording his first single in Portuguese.<\/p>\n
